Dodge Durango RT: What The Rugged SUV Has Under The Hood

Although the Dodge Durango R/T has been considered to be a family vehicle since it was introduced into the automobile market, the SUV had been modified in many ways wherein it boasted of more power, more passenger capacity, and has become more masculine than ever. Has the vehicle transformed to an outstanding performance-based automobile?

The Dodge Durango R/T has been labeled to house modern standards with respect to masculinity-enhancing automotive design. Prominently known for its family-friendly features, the vehicle now has updated engines, improved interior design, and increased comfortability with respect to passenger drive experience.

Exteriors, Interiors

As reported by MSN, the Dodge Durango R/T has a better grille, wider hood, and has a more masculine look than ever before. With stylistic and aerodynamic updated features, it can now accommodate up to seven passengers. However, the third-row seats installed into the vehicle could mean that the cargo has become smaller than usual. Therefore, the passengers better not have luggage with them or else, they would not fit inside. It also houses a comfortable heater and air-conditioned leather seats.

Despite the muscular look, the Dodge Durango R/T still makes itself as a family-friendly vehicle. It has higher trim levels consisting of SXT 18-inch wheels, heated mirrors, keyless ignition and entry, cruise control, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, and a 60/40 split folding/reclining seats in the second row while the third row is a 50/50 splitter. It also has updated technological features inside which made it more user-friendly as well such as the five-inch touchscreen and the USB port, reported Washington Times.

The Engine

Much like mid-sized crossovers, the Dodge Durango R/T has a rear-wheel drive feature. It is powered by a 5.7-liter V8 engine that enabled it to drive like a truck than a normal SUV. In fact, it roars like a sports car but still remain a family vehicle all-in-all.
