First Look At Hyundai i20 WRC Challenger: Specs Of The Brand New 2017 World Rally Championship Entry

During the Paris Motor Show last Wednesday, the 2017 Hyundai i20 was featured as the official World Rally Championship competitor. With better powertrain and aerodynamics, the model was said to be the possible flagship model of the brand in the performance cars category.

 Various car maker companies showcased their corporate branding vehicles at the 2016 Paris Motor Show last Wednesday. With respect to the Japanese automobile brand, they showcase the new and improved 2017 Hyundai i20 as the official racer for the upcoming World Rally Championship race this coming January 2017.

The Specs

As reported by Jalopnik, the 2017 Hyundai i20 model is capable of 380 hp, an Electronic Active Center differential feature that enabled it to have better downforce. With the implementation of older-spec cars announced by WRC broadcaster Becs Williams, Hyundai improved the aerodynamics of the car to improve its second place in this year's competition.

The Hyundai team for the World Rally Championship cup this coming 2017 is hoping that the upgrades to the 2017 Hyundai i20 model would enable them to garner the championship title as it fell behind at this year's event. With broader freedom on improvements, Hyundai team principal, Michel Nandan assured the fans of the race that they could expect a louder and better-performing vehicle from their end that would truly entertain, reported Auto Car.

World Rally Championship Forecast

At present, the Japanese race models were presented at the Tour de Corse, the France round of the championship. In fact, the models were deemed to have performed better than it ever has in previous competitions. With winds in the Sardinia and Argentina races, the model has been forecasted to be one of the topnotchers for next year's race.

In preparation for the World Rally Championship, the team has been currently and constantly adding updates to the aerodynamics and performance capabilities of the 2017 Hyundai i20 models. Unfortunately, no official details have been released on the specifications of these updates, just that it can generate up to 380 hp.
