Volkswagen Hopeful For 2020, Sets EV Hatch Launch Date

The controversial automobile maker is hoping to redeem itself come 2020 by creating the Volkswagen EV Hatch is expected to dominate the compact electric car market. The concept car was featured ahead of the 2016 Paris Motor Show press days. What are the specs?

Betting on selling at least a million products, carmaker Volkswagen revealed they will be creating a 2020 Volkswagen EV Hatch as a model that will redeem the company's brand name in the automobile industry. After the Paris Summit which urged the automobile industry to create more electric cars, the said model was forecasted to be the flagship model for future electric cars.

As reported by Auto News, the 2020 Volkswagen EV Hatch will be the first compact model to ride the modular platform kit for electric vehicles which is labeled as the "MEB."

The Specs

The said car would be able to run about 248-370 miles when it's fully charged and will be released alongside the next-generation Volkswagen Golf compact car as well. By then, the market was said to be more lenient with electric car prices and the company wish to set aggressive electrification plans for the 2020 Volkswagen EV Hatch to comply with a diesel-powered emissions limit.

In other news, Top Gear reported that the model will be a flat-floor type battery for its electrical storage, will be a zero-emissions car, and has special interiors for passenger mobility and comfort.

The said 2020 Volkswagen EV Hatch is expected to be a self-driving car responsive to current market needs. By 2025, it is also forecasted to feature full autonomous capabilities which will signal the rise of efficient and green cars for the future.

The said 2020 Volkswagen EV Hatch was said to be released four years from now - the first ever electric car to represent the fully-electric vehicles that would emerge in the near future.
