2017 Land Rover Discovery Upscale! 5 Best New Features Here

Land Rover's Discovery has been popular among the car lovers, especially those who are fans of the SUV. However, the car company upscaled the model, adding more features that will most likely be loved by the public.

The automaker dropped the name years ago, rebranding their models with such tags as the LR3 and LR4. But an idea must have had crossed the executive's minds to bring back the Discovery model back on track.

The car is now in its fifth generation and took the opportunity to launch the revamped model at the 2016 Paris Motor Show on October 1-16. According to Roadshow by CNET, the 2017 Discovery model is inspired by the Range Rover Sport and the model with a similar name, the Discovery Sport.

Let us take a look at the 5 best new features that the 2017 Land Rover Discovery sports:

1. The new model now has an aluminum-intensive unibody chassis which would make it 1,000 pounds or so lighter than the previous one. This sounds great, but the car still weighs over 4,800 pounds.

2. The technology was changed as well. The dashboard's centerpiece is now a 10-inch touchscreen display powered by InControlTouch Pro infotainment. The system has advanced features like door-to-door navigation, downloadable apps, and Wi-Fi connectivity that allows up to eight devices.

3. As for the interior, the 2017 Land Rover Discovery now has an Intelligent Seat Fold -- powered second- and third-row seats that can be raised and lowered both by switches and by a smartphone app.

4. The upscaled model is available with an optional powered inner tailgate as well. This essentially amounts to an 11.2-inch motorized fold-down flap just inside the liftgate.

5. Above all, the 2017 Land Rover Discovery that will be available in the US will have an option for the 3.0-liter supercharged gasoline-powered V6 with 340 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, or a Td6 turbodiesel of the same displacement.

The upscaled vehicle will come in dealerships in the mid of 2017. Check out the full specs here
