Newman's Porsche Le Mans 935 New Owner Is Radio Host Adam Carolla [VISUALS]

Paul Newman debuted his race-driving career at the 1979 24 hours Le Mans. He won second place, which drew an outstanding huge number in its entire run. His race car now belong to Adam Carolla, a radio and podcast host.

The actor's Porsche 935 Le Mans 935 was put on sale just a month ago. Everyone's interest was piques as to who will buy Newman's car. The actor has retired from the race track due to old age.

The auction house who took charge of the car's sale was Gooding & Co., at Pebble Beach last August. The automobile is undeniably a chunk of race car history.

Paul Newman debut his Le Man's career backed by then Apple Computers. No one has ever donned a race suit bearing the 'apple' since then. It claimed victory in 1983 when it was driven to the first-place by Wayne Baker, Jim Mullen and Kees Nierop.

Newman's Porsche Lee Mans 935 underwent restoration. It was handled by Paul Willison, who brought back its former "Hawaiian Tropic" look. One of its notable victories, was in Amelia Island for being the 'Best in Class', at Concours d'Elegance.

When it was put on auction by Gooding there were no asking price available back then. However, a lot speculated that it would be around $4.5 to $5.5 million dollars.

No car has gained nor matched the Porsche 935's combined fame of power and fame. It has remained the first and only car sponsored by technology company giant, Apple.
