Porsche 919 Hybrid Marketing Stint In London Traffic Was Unique, And Awesome

The scene would be mistaken for a Hollywood-film in the making. It was surreal to seen an actual racing car amidst traffic in Britain's capital.

The 919 Hybrid from Porsche made its debut on London streets, Car Scoops reported. It was accompanied by its cousin "The Panamera E-Hybrid," a premiere luxury car.

Behind the wheels is famed race-car driver Mark Webber. Lucky drivers who went behind the 919 Hybrid were just a handful. 

Previous drivers of The 919 Hybrid include Timo Bernhard, Brendan Harley and Mark Webber, The ones behind the wheels of "The Panamera E-Hybrid" were Romain Dumas, Neel Jani and Marc Lieb.

The automobiles became a sight of attraction themselves, as it passed through famous landmarks such as the London-Eye, Parliament Square, Hype Park, Regent Street, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Star. Every scene of what happened looked like a part of a script in a movie or TV ad.

It is no secret that races are just among a dozen-ploy of promotional channels for brands. This was a chance for Porsche to have a close-encounter exposure of its brand, although the 919 Hybrid was not exactly the product marketed.

The Porsche 919 Hybrid claimed a back-to-back victory during the 2016 World Endurance Champion. The killermachine boasts of an engine with a 2.0 turbo charge plus 500 hp with an additional electric motor topping it with an extra 400 hp.

The tighter fuel limits were the result of adherence to regulations. It would mean an output at below 500 hp which brings it total operation output of 900 hp.

The 919 Hybrid relied on an existing electric system with a 800-voltage. Porsche's luxury seda n'The Panamera E-Hybrid' was almost unnoticeable as it blended with other sedans, stucks in traffic in the background.

However, between the two cars, it is highly likely and inevitable that the former would stand out. In this marketing ploy Porsche certainly got the brand exposure it aimed for effortlessly with flair.
