McLaren P1 Spider Goes Electric, Now More Child-Friendly?

Who would have expected that a McLaren P1 Spider would be fit for a child? Recent reports revealed that the British sports car maker has created a unique drivable toy version of the high-performance car complete with scissor doors and an audio system that the kids will love.

Approaching the holidays, The British sports car company has created a very special McLaren P1 Spider which, surprisingly, is a functional electric car for the kids. As reported by Motor Trend, the vehicle boasts of similar features with the actual make and model only that it would be child-friendly and will have a limited top speed of 3mph.

What Makes It Child-Friendly?

The open-top McLaren P1 Spider is safe to use for children aged six onwards and is relatively small compared to its inspiration model. It has a push-button start feature with distinctive dihedral doors. For its exterior, it has working headlights. Inside, it is equipped with an air-conditioning function, installed with an MP3 audio system that houses famous nursery rhymes such as Hickory Dickory Duck and can also be incorporated with the ever famous Frozen soundtrack.

The McLaren P1 Spider Kid Edition also has powertrain features such as three forward gears and one reverse gear which would make it easier for parents to stir the child from harm's way. Also, it is able to accelerate from 0 mph to its top speed of 3mph in just a matter of two seconds.

Availability

In other news, Wired reported that the McLaren P1 Spider child edition can only be bought with the shade of Volcano Yellow, would be available for purchase by late October of this year, and may be acquired through McLaren dealers and select global toy retailers.

Price

The McLaren P1 Spider kid edition is lodged with a price value of $486. With its pure electric feature, this model formed part of the Ultimate Series cars in the market to date. Good thing the children can have a go with their own version of a sports car.
