2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class All Terrain Review: Everything We Know Before Paris Motor Show

A few days after the international launch of the new E-Class Estate, Mercedes-Benz has now confirmed the all-terrain version, which has been talked about for months now. Today, the first details about the E-class all-terrain has been released before its official debut at the Paris Motor Show next week. Here's a review of the new Mercedes-Benz unit.

A More SUV Look

Mercedes-Benz opens a new chapter with the launch of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain. It is basically an E-Class Estate with adventurous additives. But the changes are so broad that gives it a unique identity. The model looks more like an SUV now elaborated by its powerful front grill, bumpers with elements of chrome and plastic, profile wheel arches and prominent side skirts. This will make the new E-Class All-Terrain a legit competition to the Audi All Road and the Volvo V90 Cross Country.

The E-Class All-Terrain tires was specially mounted to have more ground clearance than the E-Class Estate. The wheels are 14 mm. higher and wear wheels 19 or 20", while the chassis is 15 mm. higher above the ground than a Class E.

Inside it is also different from the rest of the E-Class range playing with colors and materials that evoke the versatility of this release. We can find carbon fiber insertions, steel pedals and specific floor mats with the All-Terrain recorded name.

As usual with all cars of this type, the Class E All-Terrain offer the standard four-wheel drive 4Matic as air suspension with variable height Air Body Control, which allows us to play with the ground clearance depending on the type of ground. In fact, the Class E driver All-Terrain can have up to 156 mm. height, starting from the 121 in normal configuration. It will also provide standard Dynamic Select using the electronic adaptation of the aid.

The Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain has a new four-cylinder two liter engine and can reach 194hp with an automatic gearbox. Its performance will be more than enough for any type of use as it reaches the 232 km/h, accelerates from zero to 100 in a respectable eight seconds and consumes on average 5.1 liters.

For other information such as the release date and price, eager buyers will have to wait for more than a week for its debut at the Paris Motor Show.
