Jaguar Land Rover Marketing Goes Full Social Media, Will Carmaker's Efforts Work?

Jaguar Land Rover just put their money on social media and digital marketing to bring their collaboration and sales up top. During an interview, the Vice President of Marketing for both Jaguar and Land Rover, Kim McCullough recently announced that the companies are investing more on social media to be able to converse with varied customers and increase the number of potential buyers.

With the newly released Land Rover Discovery Sport and XE compact sedan, the makers, along with Jaguar, have teamed up to market their models through social media and the digital world. As reported by Automotive News, McCullough felt that the marketing challenge is a great risk, especially when half of the marketing budget had been lodged on social media and digital marketing alone.

The said move was for the companies to be able to get the Jaguar Land Rover brands to people who are usually out of reach for the company. It was revealed that the marketing shift to social media and digital marketing has been deemed the most budgeted compared to other manufacturers. In fact, McCullough admitted that Jaguar Land Rover had been focusing on social media and the digital world for marketing efforts since recent years.

Simon Dixon, the founder of Rockar, also attested that if the digital trends were analyzed, it would show that social media had been the trend in marketing for a while now. In fact, 60% of the customers were deemed to have completed their purchase of automobiles outside of manufacturers' showrooms. With this, Jaguar Range Rover had been pushing for giving their customers more opportunity to purchase their products online, reported Auto Car.

Furthermore, Dixon also added that Jaguar Land Rover also purchased the mobile-friendly digital car buying service for their brand models. With this brand new addition, the marketing department is expecting that sales would drive up with this added feature where customers can easily access their purchase for the products.

Now that Jaguar Land Rover has gone to social media and added in the mobile-friendly digital car buying device, will the brand be able to achieve their target budget for this year? Will Land Rover Discovery and the XE compact sedan have more buyers in social media?
