Tesla Model S P100D Does Ludicrous Quarter Mile In 10.7s, Outruns Corvette Z06

The top-rated Tesla Model S P100D has started to reach early buyers. Unsurprisingly, eager enthusiasts have already begun performance-testing the sedan that Tesla takes pride in referring to as the 'fastest production car in the world.'

DragTimes, the YouTube channel owned by Brooks recently got the chance to test out a P100D variant of the Model S and as can be expected, video of the Model S in action is there to be seen already. For the record, the particular Model S belongs to a family residing in Palm Beach Florida, as Electrek mentioned and had invited Brooks to put the car through its paces.

AOf course, the P100D does live up to the tall claim its makers have attributed to the sedan. For instance, the 60 mph speed mark from rest is indeed reached in 2.54 secs as Tesla has been claiming.

Similarly, the 100 mph mark was accomplished in an equally miserly 6.52 secs. As for the quarter-mile sprint, the Model S in Ludicrous mode accomplished that in 10.78s with the speedometer reading 128.5 mph.

As reported by Auto Evolution, the Model S in Ludicrous mode has already shamed many big names from the sports car fraternity and the latest version with the 100 kWh battery on-board continues with the trend. Mention must also be made of the Model S P90D that had already made the 2016 Corvette Z06 bite dust in the 1/4 mile drag race, notwithstanding the stark asymmetry that exists in the individual power ratings of the two cars.

The Z06 has a rated at of 650 hp and 650 lb/ft of torque while the Tesla P90D manages 532 hp and 713 ft/lbs of torque from its 90 kWh battery.

Power readings of the P100D turned out to be a thoroughly impressive 567 kW or 760 HP which again eclipses that of the P90D by a wide margin.
