Ex-Racer And Popular NASCAR Driver’s Father Kills Himself After Strangling Wife, Investigation Ongoing

Very shocking news involving former NASCAR driver Robby Grodon's father, Robert Gordon, strangling his wife Sharon Gordon, to death, and then committing suicide by shooting himself afterwards, has emerged. As announced by Orange police Lt. Fred Lopez said, it was apparent that the incident was a possible result of a murder-suicide in the close-knit community of Orange County.

The devastating news involves Robert Gordon, 68 and Sharon Gordon, 57 - father and step-mother of the well-known race car driver.

According to ABC News, both bodies were found lying in the house after Orange County police received a 911 call from a neighbor checking-in on the husband and wife. Yet, no further details about the incident on what the motive or what triggered the father of the former auto racing star, to commit the heinous crime, have been released.

Sharon Gordon was strangled to death while her husband, Robert Gordon, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to L.A. Times.

Shocking Details

The police say the horrifying incident happened Wednesday afternoon in the Southern California home of the couple. A rifle was found at the scene, and is still being tested if it was used as the murder weapon.

"I'm so sad, and I can't believe it. I grew up on this property my whole life," Robby Gordon, the racing star, stated. His family is upset and grieving the loss of two of its member, as reported by Chron

Robby Gordon reminisced how his father inculcated his love for the motorsports and competition, who is an off-road racer known as "Baja Bob."

"He taught me at a young age that one horsepower wasn't going to be enough - go do something different," Gordon said, as reported by ABC News.

"The truth will come out," the driver added in front of the press while addressing the sudden death of his family members.

Robby Gordon said he will release another statement once the police finished their investigation.
