Most of us might feel the effects of climate change as early as now. The weather has been worse, leading to some phenomenal tragedies in different parts of the world. As a result, we need to take some preventive measures. It is believed that gasoline-powered cars will be discontinued by 2035 to help reduce the effects of climate change.
A goal has been allegedly set during the 2015 Paris Climate Change Conference. One of them is the cessation of the production of gasoline-powered vehicles by 2035.
According to Business Insider, the study made by Climate Action Tracker concluded that "the last gas-powered car will have to be sold by about 2035 for us to limit global warming to the extent set by world leaders at the Paris summit."
Aside from that, one of the ways to fight the threatening change in climate is to limit the production of greenhouse gas emissions to prevent global temperatures from rising 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.
However, it looks like the companies are being proactive with regards to that. The demand for electric cars are now rising, and even tech firms such as Apple and Google and trying to venture on developing a system for electric cars.
Notably, Apple has been rumored to launch "Project Titan" in the near future. Meanwhile, Google might be doing the same as well. Details about the electric cars have been scarce, however, so consumers might still need to wait for more updates in the future.
More than that, popular automakers such as Tesla have been developing electric vehicles, which have been in the industry for quite a while.
On the other hand, Toyota and Honda plan to sell hydrogen-powered cars. Toyota plans to sell 30,000 of its hydrogen car, the Mirai, worldwide by 2020. Check out the vehicle via Toyota's official website.
So far, the alternatives are being used to help the environment in the fight against climate change. But there are more car companies than the aforementioned, and we are waiting for their contribution as well.
