iPhone 8 Rumors: Removal Of Home Button Confirmed?

After pictures surfaced of the iPhone 7 through the Chinese wholesaler leaks, credible journalists have reported that the 2017 iPhone will have a revamped screen without any physical home button. Numerous predictions have been made that the iPhone 8 would have an edge to edge screen and some people likewise said the same in regards to the iPhone 7 series.

However, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg reported that the company would ditch its signature home button in the version as a part of a major revamp of the iPhone. Mr. Gurman has been an analyst at 9to5Mac and is known as a credible source.

Goodbye Home button, hello fingerprint scanner

With the home button ditched, the company would need to address matters such as the fingerprint scanner on the phones. However, we believe that it might introduce a fingerprint scanner on the back of the device, resembling that of a Nexus device. The company could even use the 3D technology it has at its disposal which may help in a more polished version of a scanner.

Concerns about retina display and overall appearance of the iPhone

The move would likewise be in accordance with the allotted five years given to the retina display to the iPhones by previous CEO, Steve Jobs. The company has had the same retina displays throughout the previous five years and have been surpassed by their rivals in this category.

Smartphone devices from Samsung and Google have a superior display which gives a better quality picture on the phones and the iPhone screen looks less defined as compared to the others. However, Ming-Chi Kuo had already told investors in April that the company won't be changing the outlook of their phones a lot in their 2016 release. There have also been strong rumors on how the 2017 iPhone will be featuring a glass chassis, not aluminum.
