The fifth-generation Land Rover Discovery is ready to be revealed later this month and goes on sale next year. But before its public reveal, it has yet to face its final test: Children.
As we can recall, the Land Rover Discovery has been exposed to the most difficult and toughest development testing ever, including 1,000,000 miles of testing in 20 countries from the scorching deserts of Dubai to the wild Colorado mountains. It has also conquered the roughest road tracks that the U.K. and has experienced ice driving in the subzero temperatures of the Arctic Circle.
Bear Grylls, a famous survivalist, even tested its new seat folding app. The outcome is surely a heavy-duty, bolder and more distinguished Land Rover Discovery ever.
Now the final question is, did the kids enjoy the ride?
Land Rover Discover Engineers and Designers goal is to create the ultimate family SUV. Thus, at the end of the trip, they asked their kids to draw their favorite experiences, activities and animals and wrapped a pre-production Disco in their artwork. The outcome is that the kids were captivated. The Discovery succeeded.
The Discovery is said to be the perfect vehicle for people who enjoy living an active lifestyle and its automaker has not disappointed its consumers because it highlighted the Land Rover’s ability to function as a family vehicle with some serious power.
The Land Rover’s specifications include a 2.0–liter diesel engine and will have as much as 240hp. The seven-seater beast will use aluminum monocoque making it lighter than its 2.6-ton predecessor.
It is also expected to be tech-heavy with its innovative Intelligent Seat Technology system that allows users to control and fold down seats remotely using a smartphone application. It is also confirmed that the model will have its nine USB ports and enough secure storage space to hide four IPads.
