Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Partnering With Jessie Rees Foundation For Childhood Cancer Month

Annually, it's estimated that over 300,000 children are diagnosed with cancer. And as September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month, Jessie Rees Foundation and Lucas Oil Off Road Series are teaming up to bring happiness to those fighting the disease.

On September 23rd and 24th, the racing event will hold its 13th and 14th round at the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park. Drivers participating in the series will kick the completion off by visiting the Loma Linda Hospital on September 22nd.

They will be spending time with the children and their family encouraging them to keep on fighting the good fight. And as a tradition of the foundation and its partners, their signature Joy Cars will be handed over to the children along with other gifts and surprises.

"We are so pleased to join with the Jessie Rees foundation in offering these wonderful children some joy in the midst of a very difficult struggle. Our drivers have been so touched by the daily heroism of these kids and are working hard to raise awareness for each of their fights with cancer," said Bob Patison, Vice President of Lucas Oil. "As the drivers take to the track on Friday and Saturday their trucks will be emblazoned with a Gold sticker encouraging the children they met to Never Ever Give Up," Patison added. In the weeks leading up to the racing event, competing drivers will be recording and share the videos online in an attempt to further spread awareness for children diagnosed with cancer.

Lucas Oil will also be hosting a poker tournament at the Lake Elsinore Hotel and Casino to raise funds for the Jessie Rees Foundation.

"I'm honored to partner with Lucas Oil to spread awareness for kids fighting cancer. I'm excited that they have decided to Go Gold to create awareness for the thousands of children and families fighting for their lives. Lucas Oil really has a heart to help the kids," said Erik Rees, founder of the Jessie Rees Foundation.

This tradition had been started by Jessie herself during her battle with cancer, which tragically ended in 2012.
