2017 Buick Lacrosse Hybrid EV Debuts, Sells at $41,309

The 2017 Buick Lacrosse Hybrid EV had just made its official debut and can now be bought overseas in China with an official price tag of $41,309 for the standard model and the fully-specced model at 45,309.

The newly launched 2017 Buick Lacrosse Hybrid EV looks basically familiar to the original design line along with the outer body that also remains the same as the original trim. It may have the same style and design but it features a specific powertrain and some other electric rewards that help achieve excellent gas mileage.

This latest hybrid vehicle from Buick is definitely a big deal for the Chinese market, as it builds on the brand's electrification portfolio that already contains fuel-efficient options like the LaCrosse eAssist and the LaCrosse Eco-Hybrid.

In addition, the 2017 Buick Lacrosse Hybrid EV will have the new "Buick Blue" logo that appears on the LaCrosse Hybrid electric vehicle rear deck lid. It signifies the focus on upgrading its conventional powertrains and promoting green technologies.

It is powered by a 1.8L SIDI engine that is paired with an electric variable transmission and a 1.5-kWh high-performance lithium battery unit. the consumption is this powertrain combination is good for 4.7 liters per every 100 kilometers. The engine and battery performance is also enriched with several other addition technologies. The fuel economy reaches 50 mpg with 8.9 acceleration level, therefore it is expected to be a nice performing hybrid car.

The fact that this new car does not only feature hybrid engine but several technologies to support the green concept is captivating. It's no surprise that this model will sell big in China, considering the Chinese market appears to be more interested in hybrid vehicle than in the U.S.

This is the reason why Buick hasn't stated yet if the 2017 Buick Lacrosse Hybrid EV will be available to the US market leaving the 3.6-liter LGX V6 engine as the only option in the North American market.
