Jim Broadbent Is Confirmed As The First Addition To The Cast Of Game Of Thrones Season 7

Everyone is waiting for Game Thrones season 7 from the minute that the last episode of the season ended. Upon the wait, fans consume themselves on speculations, trivial facts and waiting for updates for new casts.

Just in, Academy Award Winning actor Jim Broadbent will be in the world of Westeros in the 7th season of the series. His role is still unknown but it is said that it will be "significant."

How "significant" is still in the speculations. By the looks of things, he can be playing a role of a priest or a Septon. That is very vague for now but he will surely play something that everyone will watch out for. 

Jim is another actor that made it to the list or casts that said to switch worlds from the Magical World of Harry Potter to Westeros. He played the role of Horace Slughorn.  Following the actors David Bradley that played Filch and Walder Frey; Natalia Tena as Tonks in the films as well as Osha; Ciarán Hinds played Aberforth Dumbledore and also took the role of Mance Rayder in the series.

Broadbent apart from his role in Harry Potter is known for his outstanding performances in his roles on the films, "Iris" which where he won his Oscars, "Moulin Rouge!", "Time Bandits" and "Brazil."
That being said, we are all assured that we can expect nothing less but perfection from the 67-year-old actor.

Game of Thrones will again air in the summer of 2017 which is unusual with their common airing time that happens during spring. Apart from that, season 7 will only have 7 episodes rather than the usual 10. 

The series is reported to close the curtains on the 8th season and it will also be shorter, not reaching 10 episodes. That adds to the excitement and anticipation as well as the dread that some fans feel. 

Approaching the end also means that this last two seasons will be the most intense and it will be the most anticipated of all.
