Toyota Vios and Yaris Gets Upgraded: Specs, Details and More

The two most sought after models of car company Toyota have been given upgrades by the company itself, namely the Yaris hatchback and the Toyota Vios sedan. The upgraded versions of these models were officially launched during Toyota's thanksgiving celebration for mid-year, which in Taguig's Bonifacio Global City.

These upgrades include adding new VVT-I engines for both models, thus boosting its overall power, along with the CVT, or the continuously variable transmission, which enables driving more efficiency. While it may be expected that with higher engine power comes higher fuel consumption, the NR series engines actually allow you to save on fuel, get more from your gas, and emit less harmful gas.

The two new CVT types are also already equipped with a sequential shift mode with seven speeds, a far cry from the gearbox of earlier models, which has only 4 speeds. Apart from the improved engine features, other things future vehicle owners could look forward to is the aesthetically improved seat cloth and a dark silver hue display for the audio head.

The latest version of the Vios is also well equipped with chrome trims, the G variant in its for lamps, which perk up how it looks from the outside. The range of colors has also been extended for the new Vios, with two more hues as choices, namely blackish red mica and jade metallic. The Yaris, on the other hand, has retained the initial array of colors, making it a more conservative pick over the Vios.

Prices for both the new Vios and Yaris models vary from store to store, depending on tank capacity, which ranges from either 1.3 L to 1.5 L.  The Vios model prices range from P 599,000 to P991,000 while the Yaris prices range from Php. 743,000 to Php. 883,000.
