Ferrari, the Italian luxury car manufacturer, has just recently recalled 621 imported vehicles in China because of a defect on the airbags inside the vehicles.

Based on the website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the recall will start on September 15 and will encompass the cars that are produced between the times of March 1, 2010 and September 30, 2011 and the California series Ferraris that are made between April 1, 2009 and June 30, 2011.

The statements say that when the defective airbags get to inflate, the gas generators in the interior of the airbags pose a potential risk as it can be easily damaged. When damaged, this can have a risk on the passengers. Ferrari is facing the challenge of having to make up for the substandard airbags that it discovered in one of its experiments and testimonials. Fortunately, Ferrari responds to the issue quickly to save further reputation issues plaguing the company.

This may possibly be caused by some technical glitches or human errors in the general process of production in Ferrari's respective production facilities. Whichever the case is, it is the responsibility of Ferrari to do the best of what it can to alleviate the destructive effect of the recalls to the reputation of the company. Basing on the trends of cars being recalled, it is forecasted that this will deal a negative blow on the marketability and saleability of other Ferrari vehicles.

Xinhua says that Ferrari promises to check the recalled vehicles and replace the parts that have a defect, without any charges.

China is considered as one of the biggest markets for Italian luxury car maker, Ferrari, leaving the company no option but to make up for the defects that its airbags currently have.
