Tesla, the leading electric automaker publicized last Wednesday that an affordable version of the Model X SUV will be offered in the market.

The new electric vehicle is called as the Model X 60D. It features a capability of reaching 200 miles without prior recharging while getting up to a  top speed of 130 miles per hour. It is priced starting at $74,000 before any kind of government rebates.

This would possibly increase or decrease after the government intervention on its pricing.

The Model X also has its own high-end version, named as the P90D. This starts at a price of $115,000 and can reach a range of 250 miles before another recharge, and reaching top speeds of 155 miles per hour.

The production of a more affordable and cheaper SUV is caused by the stronger market demand for larger vehicles that are more fuel-efficient. The all-new electric car of Tesla will surely have no problem in fuel-efficiency, as it emits 0% fuel, relying entirely on electric power.

Tesla also stated that another sedan that will start at the price of $35,000 will be unveiled in the near future.

This electric car will be called the Model 3. However, the release will be available next year.

The last few weeks have been a rollercoaster ride for Tesla and its CEO, Elon Musk. The plan of Elon Musk to let Tesla purchase the nearly bankrupt residential solar firm, SolarCity, is met by negative perceptions as this is seen to be an unproductive investment.

The issue of the fatal car crash incident that involves a Tesla electric vehicle that is in Autopilot mode is also having a damaging effect on the reputation of the company.

This results in last week's lower sales percentage for Tesla, troubling its CEO, Elon Musk to find solutions to the problem that the company is facing.
