In-depth Look At The 2017 BMW 5 Series: Release Date And Specs Revealed!

The latest BMW 5 Series is well loved, as it attracts a five-star rating. It even topped its competitors just like Audi's A6 and the Jaguar XF which only gained a score of four.

It also gained the title of Large Executive Car of the Year. Its new title is one of the  main reasons why the BMW 5 Series is gaining an unprecedented widespread popularity.

BMW is on its way to revealing the next 5 Series as it will be out in the market in the first half of 2017. The BMW 5 Series is in the middle of the smaller 3 Series and the larger 7 Series in terms of its size. It is priced at £31,000 for the budget-friendly SE trim.

It will first be out as a saloon and will be followed by a Touring estate version. A 5 Series GT is also in production.

Engine and Interior

Petrol and diesel engines with four or six cylinders respectively, are the most possible contenders to be featured in the BMW 5 Series.

The BMW 5 Series will follow the luxurious and sleek interior designs of its Audi and Jaguar competitors. A free-standing central touchscreen unit will also be featured in the interior.

The BMW 5 Series final design will not be out to the public until the third quarter of 2016. An autonomous driving system will also be featured. This will take control of the steering, braking, and acceleration.

A price increase will also be felt with the new 5 Series, although it will not be too much of an increase. Based on unofficial statements made by BMW, the new Series 5 will start at £32,000 for the entry-level version. The saloon will have a 2.0-liter diesel engine.
