Original 'The Fast and the Furious' Movie Will Hit Theaters In Time for 15th Anniversary

"Fast and Furious" franchise fans will get to see the original movie once again as it will be released in theaters this June 22 for one night only to mark the famous installment's 15th anniversary.

Auto Blog reported that "The Fast and the Furious" will show other fans who were not able to see the original film in the theater. The fans who were able to watch the movie from the very first until the latest seventh installment will be able to relive the nostalgia as they will once again see the late Paul Walker.

The original film was the first time that Dom and Brian met at the streets of Los Angeles and the rest of the original gang will also be featured, Coming Soon reported.

A trailer for the June 22 screening was released by Universal. In it, Vin Diesel's character, Dom, was heard narrating and some cool stunts from "The Fast and the Furious" were also featured in the minute-long preview. It also showed Walker and Diesel towards the end of the video talking as Brian bragged about almost going ahead of Dom in one of their races.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Diesel released a statement regarding the franchise's 15th anniversary. He said that fifteen years ago, his life changed forever as Dom was born. He added that back then, he did not know what it really meant and that the brotherhood he formed with Brian, the love embodied in Letty, and the sense of family that was introduced by Mia made the film what it is today. He added, "Proud of our Fast saga family. From studio to crew, thank you all."

The seven films of "Fast and Furious" grossed around $3.9 billion and the latest installment had the most amount as it made $1.5 billion worldwide.

The eighth installment is currently in the works and its release is scheduled on April 14, 2017.
