Chevrolet recently introduced the new 2017 Colorado in Brazil, ahead of its scheduled release in Australia in August 2016. The updated pick-up truck is the outcome of the collaborative effort between Chevrolet and Holden and was previously presented as a concept model in Bangkok, Thailand in March 2016, dubbed “Colorado Xtreme.”
The new 2017 Chevrolet Colorado boasts of updated aesthetics, safety components and tech and connectivity upgrades, while maintaining the U.S. “truck” culture.
“The Chevrolet Colorado revealed by our Brazilian colleagues is the result of ongoing work between Holden and Chevrolet Brazil and a clear indication of where the Holden Colorado is heading,” said Holden’s executive director of sales, Peter Keley.
Ausdroid cites Keley in saying that the Holden 2017 Colorado will be the most refined version of the pick-up truck ever as a result of their significant engineering efforts. The vehicle maintains all of the capability of the current model but added a new design that balances both elegance and strength, making it an ideal “weekday workhorse and weekend explorer.”
According to Holden, its engineers worked with their colleagues at GM abroad to provide range revised Colorado an improved drive without losing any of its famous tough traits.
The 2017 Colorado features the same ladder chassis and diesel engine as the current model. In terms of aesthetics, Holden shared that they added more angles and lines to pay tribute to its American truck roots. They wanted to give it strong and rugged proportions to give a solid impression of its off-road capabilities. The new truck has a slimmer extended grille, a more powerful-looking bonnet and LED daytime running lights that exude both prestige and power.
Motoring reports that the interior of the pick-up truck also involved a full styling makeover that emphasized on comfort, space, technology and stature. The vehicle features a new dashboard, soft-touch surfaces and seat trims. The center console was also adjusted. The Holden 2017 Colorado has an 8.0-inch color touch display with advanced tech such as Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and a new Holden MyLink infotainment system.
Holden will also showcase a wide array of genuine accessories which were based on those spotted on the Colorado Xtreme. Majority of the accessories from the concept car will be available for the Holden 2017 Colorado. Some of the notable add-ons include a sports bar, safari bar and choices for the alloy wheels.
