2017 Range Rover Evoque 'Ember' Special Edition; Release Date, Specs & Nifty Features

Range Rover recently revamped the fixed-roof Evoque with the new 2017 Ranger Rover Evoque “Ember” Special Edition. The SUV has been upgraded for off-road situations and boasts a unique red and black color scheme.

The 2017 Range Rover Evoque Ember follows the introduction of the Evoque Convertible. The new edition is based on an HSE Dynamic model, while the color palette particularly consists of Firenze Red and Santorini Black. A number of improvements have also been introduced to the driving, navigation and infotainment systems.

Car Magazine notes that the exterior and interior of the car features black and red tones. The outside of the Ember is predominantly black, with red accents on the front and rear bumper, spoiler and roof. The interior of the vehicle features black seats with red stitching, black and red mats and glossy black trims. The 2017 model showcases the “Black Pack,” which means that the 20-inch wheels, grille, lights and tailpipe trims have been blacked out for a bolder appearance. The lettering on the bonnet and boot were also given the dark effect.

According to Auto Express, all Evoques will also have a new driving mode that will help in slippery conditions. The Low Traction Launch mode will limit the torque applied to the wheels, which will prevent the wheels from spinning while the car begins acceleration. The new mode will automatically provide the maximum torque possible when the Evoque is moving through slipper surfaces, so drivers can get on solid ground immediately. Drivers do not have to rely on precise throttle control but can reduce power via the pedal and onboard electronics. As a result, the Evoque gains stability quickly and makes driving in wet conditions safe.

The new Range Rover Evoque will feature a new InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, including a higher-resolution 10.2-inch touchscreen display and more smartphone connectivity. Pre-planned destinations on the sat-nav can be relied on by the system, together with an app. There is a top-down camera for parking assistance too. The system is also available on HSE Dynamic, Autobiography and HSE Dynamic Lux models.

The 2017 Range Rover Evoque Ember Special Edition will only be available for a period of three months in summer 2016. The new unit will cost around $67,600 and deliveries will start in September 2016.

Land Rover recently added several new exterior colors, upping the total to 18.

More updates and details on the 2017 Range Rover Evoque Special Edition are expected soon.
