BMW Celebrates 100 Years With 100 Numbered, Hand Finished 7 Series Sedans

To celebrate BMW’s 100 years in the business, the German automaker recently introduced a new prestige 7 Series. The new luxury car is called “BMW Individual M760i xDrive Model V12 Excellence THE NEXT 100 YEARS.”

The entire lineup is dubbed “BMW Individual 7 Series THE NEXT 100 YEARS.” The exclusive sedans will be individually numbered and hand-finished. There will only be 100 units to be produced, all of which will be available in an exclusive blue color. Five of the models will arrive in the United States soon.

According to CTV News, there will be three available engines. The model that will arrive in the U.S. will feature the 6.6-liter TwinPower Turbo 12-cylinder engine similar to the BMW M760Li. In other places, buyers can opt for the 12-cylinder unit, a 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V-8 engine or a plug-in-hybrid drivetrain.

CNET reveals that the exterior of the car maintained the sleek and low-key appearance that the brand is known for. The sedan has forged lightweight 20-inch alloy wheels featuring a V-spoke design and handcrafted badges.


The interior showcased several great features and accents, such as the black and smoke white full fine-grain Merino leather upholstery, the “1 of 100” badge near the center console, emblems stating “THE NEXT 100 YEARS” on the B-pillars, dashboard and headrests and a panoramic glass roof. Hand-woven piping was used for the car seat quilts. All of these details are made by hand. The inside of the car also features Alcantara and piano black wood veneer accents. Overall, the interior of the car truly stands out and provides a pleasant and luxurious aura.

The Individual 7 will also include a state-of-the-art infotainment system, a GPS system that can aid in gear changes and remote-controlled parking, driver safety and assistance systems, connective capabilities,

Buyers of the limited series will also get a custom Montblanc fountain pen. BMW has partnered with Montblanc to make a centennial fountain pen for every owner that incorporates some of the features, color and materials that were used in the new car.

BMW’s objective is to pay tribute to the concept of luxury 100 years ago and introduce it to the latest innovations and technologies of the modern era.

The price of the new BMW luxury sedan has yet to be announced.

The BMW Individual 7 Series THE NEXT 100 YEARS will become available before 2016 ends. More updates and details are expected soon.
