2016 Peugeot Expert Is Ready For The Market; Check Out The Full Specs

Peugeot is proud to announce the all-new 2016 Expert, featuring a modern design, a wide array of capabilities and versatility. The vehicle is described by the company as one generation ahead in every way.

The 2016 Peugeot Expert will launch with a worldwide show debut in Birmingham at the NEC Commercial Vehicle Show on Apr. 26, 2016. There will also be a press reveal in Hall 5 on the Peugeot stand.

“Our ambition with the new Peugeot Expert is to attract new customers. Its innovative design offers differentiating services and embodies a new aspect of Peugeot’s high-end strategy in the utility vehicles sector,” said Maxime Picat, Peugeot Brand CEO.

Motor1 notes that the 2016 Peugeot Expert will become available in three body styles, namely Crew van, Platform cab and Combi. The Crew vans include five or six fixed or fold-up seats. The Platform cab serves as a conversion base, while the Combi can have up to nine seats. The Expert comes in three body lengths. The Standard version measures 4.95m, while the Long version measures 5.30m. The Compact version measures 4.60m.

The new vehicle sits on the EMP2 platform and is dubbed as an all-new model. Buyers will have the option of having two or three seats in the front, while the back has a carrying capacity of 6.6 cubic meters. The maximum payload of the Expert is 1,400kgs or 3,086 lbs.

Automotive World states that there are also sixBlueHDi engines to choose from, including a 1.6-liter unit that can provide 95 horsepower via a five-speed manual or six-speed electronic automated gearbox. There is also a 1.6-liter engine with 115hp connected to a six-speed manual transmission. Another features a 2.0-liter engine with 120hp, a 2.0-liter unit with 150hp and a third 2.0-liter unit with 180hp. The first two are linked to a six-speed manual gearbox, while the 180hp type is powered via a six-speed automatic gearbox.

The interior cabin house an infotainment system with a seven-inch touchscreen, with voice recognition and TomTom navigation support. The system also showcases real-time traffic info, MirrorLink and Apple CarPlay for added convenience while driving. The 2016 Peugeot Expert comes with several safety systems and features as well, such as active safety brake, road sign reading, driver attention alert, speed limit recommendation, driver assist pack, automatic main beam switching and distance alert system among others.

Potential buyers can see the actual models at the NEC Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham on Apr. 26, 2016.
