Good news!

Chevrolet Camaro SS owners no longer have to fear breaking their cars while on the road. Chevrolet has revealed that the company will honor the warranties they handed out for V8 Camaros for any issues caused by driving the cars to a racetrack day or night.

Many drivers have been dying to experience the speed and power of the sports car but fear that their investment would be wasted if the vehicle breaks. According to Motor Authority, General Motors has already confirmed the aforementioned warranty policy through Camaro Chief Engineer Al Oppenheiser. The news portal has reported that drivers can use their vehicles on any racetrack without any worries.

"If you're not modifying your car and you take your production car to a track day and you have an issue with one of your parts, it's covered under warranty. That's pride of craftsmanship that we know it will stand up to track use," Oppenheiser told the site.

However, the policy will not include Camaros which have been modified. Drivers should note that GM will not take care of the issues in cars that underwent modifications. The car manufacturer emphasized that they will identify if the car in question received new parts, GM Authority reports.

"We know when somebody changes their ECM calibration and we know if they changed to a cold-air intake, we can tell all that. But driving it as you break it in from the dealership, if you have a half-shaft or whatever, it's covered," Oppenheiser added.

The same policy had been imposed for the earlier version of Camaro like the ZL1 and Z28 models. Chevrolet seems confident that it won't be spending much money on repairs and replacements since the company thoroughly tested their vehicles before releasing them to the market. A 24-hour track test at the Milford Proving Grounds had been conducted to check if the tires and pads would easily wear.
