Porsche Denies Responsibility in Actor Paul Walker's Death

Porsche executives deny responsibility in the death of Fast and Furious star, Paul Walker. Today executives at Porsche stated faulty mechanics were not to blame for Paul Walker's death in the Porsche Carrera GT he crashed in nearly 2 years ago, reported ABC15 News.

Porsche responded to a lawsuit filed by Paul Walker's daughter, Meadow Rain Walker, seeking unspecified damages for numerous defects in the Porsche Carrera GT that trapped her father when it crashed and burst into flames.

The police said that driver and friend Roger Rodas was drivling 94mph (151kph) in a 45mph zone when it crashed into a lamppost, reported TMZ. Widow Kristine Rodas alleged in her lawsuit that the car was travelling at 55mph (89kph). Meadow's lawsuit alleges that the car was travelling much slower when it spun out of control.

According to CNN News, Walker's attorney Jeff Milam stated, "The bottom line is that the Porsche Carrera GT is a dangerous car. It doesn't belong on the street."

Porsche representative Calvin Kim stated, "As we have said before, we are saddened whenever anyone is hurt in a Porsche vehicle, but we believe the authorities' reports in this case clearly established that this tragic crash resulted from the reckless driving and excessive speed," reported Entertainment Weekly.

Meadow Rain Walker accused Porsche of strict liability and negligence in the lawsuit she filed yesterday stating that "Walker's car lacked safety features that could have prevented the accident or, at a minimum, allowed Paul Walker to survive the crash" reported CNN News.

The court document asserts that Porsche should have equipped the 2005 Carrera GT with an electronic stability control system to protect against swerving and adequate side door reinforcement bars, CNN News reported.

Meadow Rain Walker's attorney Jeff Milam issued a statement on behalf of the teenager: "It is with great reluctance that Meadow Walker has authorized the filing of this lawsuit on her behalf and as heir to Paul Walker's estate. She's a teenage girl still dealing with the tragic loss of her father," reported Entertainment Weekly.
