Keith Richards' Bentley Up For Sale

Yet another rare car is set for auction on September 12 at the Goodwood Revival in the United Kingdom, and that car is Keith Richards' 1965 Bentley S3 Continental, according to the DuPont Registry.

Nicknamed "Blue Lena" by Richards himself, this classic needs no introduction. Besides the tinted rear windows, this is a standard edition. However, as you can imagine, this ride has seen things that are far from standard measure. Richards bought the Flying Spur Sports Saloon when he was 22 years old, often driving it in the heyday of the Rolling Stones. He allegedly modified the interior with hidden compartments in order to hide some of his stash. Richards documented this in his autobiography, saying "Blue Lena carried us on many an acid-fuelled journey. Modifications included a secret compartment in the frame for the concealing of illegal substances."

Richards took "Blue Lena" to Morocco with Stones member Brian Jones to evade drug possession charges in the United Kingdom, according to Car And Driver. While en route, Jones came down with pneumonia and was admitted to the hospital. It was between Barcelona and Valencia where a relationship between Richards and Anita Pallenberg, Jones' girlfriend at the time, began in the backseat of the Bentley. The two would go on to have three children together.

"Blue Lena" sure has plenty of stories to share, like when Richards crashed it after a show with the Stones, leaving an indentation on the dashboard where his nose has smashed it, the Daily Mail reported.

Richards sold the car a few years ago, and it is now back up for auction. The presale estimate is anywhere from $610,000 to $920,000.
