2016 Ram 3500 Adds More Towing Capability

The 2016 Ram 3500 has added some muscle, sporting a tow rating of 31,210 pounds, according to Car and Driver.

This is a giant leap from the 2015 Ram 3500, which was able to lug 30,000 pounds. Even more important, its rival competitor Ford F-450 has a tow rating of 31,200. Sure it's only 10 pounds, but Ram takes the win in the tow department.

The 3500 base engine is 5.7 liter V8 petrol engine, with a max of around 380 horses and 400 lb-ft of max torque. The Cummins 6.7-liter inline-six diesel can be ordered, which boosts the torque to 900 lb-ft (a 35 lb-ft gain over the 2015 model), which ranks at the top of its class, and 385 horsepower, according to Auto Blog.

Features for the new model include improved mobile phone connectivity, DVD player and Wi-fi connectivity, reports Future Car Release. These are features well-known to the modern luxury sedans but will be present in the Ram 3500. Dodge definitely did not rest in the offseason, as the new 2016 Ram 3500 has made huge strides over not only its previous model, but its competitors.
