Saw Impales Truck In China, Driver Miraculously Survives

Driving on the Chongqing-Guizhou Expressway in central China last Wednesday, a motorist was met with a 60-inch circular saw that crashed through the front of his car, reported the Daily Mail.

The enormous blade slashed the engine and dug 50 cm into the front of the truck driven by a man identified only as Mr. Xiang, according to The Telegraph. Reports say that around 3:40 p.m., Mr. Xiang was traveling Chongqing when he heard a loud crash from the opposing lane. A pickup truck carrying equipment, including the circular saw, crashed into the center median and lost control. Apparently the equipment was not secured safely enough to the pickup truck, as Mr. Xiang saw his truck get impaled by the bouncing blade.

A day after the accident, Mr. Xiang told reporters his account of the action. "I heard a 'bang' and then I saw all the white smoke in front of me. I almost lost control of my car," he told local reporters, according to The Telegraph. Somehow unscathed from the accident, he was able to leave his car. He said that he was barely able to stand after he stepped out of his car because his legs were shaking so badly.

Miraculously, neither Mr. Xiang nor the other driver was injured. Police on the scene said that Mr. Xiang could have died if he had been driving faster, or if the blade had struck his car from a different angle, according to ABC News.
