This Ford GT Is the Race Car that Will Enter LeMans in 2016

Ford is bringing back the GT supercar for 2016. We couldn't be more excited for an American challenger to the European and Japanese establishment, as well as some healthy rivalry against Dodge and Chevrolet's best.

We've heard Ford confidently aver that the arrival of the '16 GT will be accompanied by a return to the 24 Hours of LeMans endurance race—commemorating a victory at the circuit in 1966. On the heels of this year's run at LeMans, scheduled to take place this weekend, we have these: The first images of next year's Ford GT race car. The LeMans car will compete in the LM GTE pro class, against the likes of Aston Martin, Chevrolet, and Ferrari.

Have a look for yourself at the bona fide race car with a turbocharged V-6 that is Ford's next great hope.
