Functional 'Tron' Lightcycle Sells For $77,000 at Auction (PHOTOS)

If you're a fan of the cult classic "TRON," or its so-so sequel "TRON: Legacy," you're about to be very jealous of one lucky, and anonymous, bidder.

Described as the "ultimate homage for any fan" by RM Sotheby's, a fully-functional "TRON" replica lightcycle made for the Andrews Collection sold at auction this weekend for $77,000.

The bike, based on the rides used by "Legacy" stars Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde, is powered by a direct-drive electric motor that has lithium batteries and is strapped to a computer-controlled digital electronic transmission, according to RM Sotheby's website.

The electric vehicle was listed in pristine condition since it had only been used for testing after its completion in 2012.

We haven't been able to find the winner yet but whoever it is will certainly be traveling in style.

"It is unlikely that a similar motorcycle will ever be produced or made available for purchase, making this a truly unique opportunity," the auction block said about the bike.

There are some differences between the lifecycle and the ones featured in the movie, however. The one that sold at auction doesn't leave a trail behind it sadly enough and (we assume) it's also not indestructible.

"TRON" fans that didn't win the bike shouldn't be too upset. Disney recently announced that it green-lit a third TRON film set to reach production this fall.

The bike sold for a bargain compared to highest selling vehicle at the auction: a 1962 Ferrari that went for $7.645 million.
