Remember that old joke and brain teaser, "How do you get an elephant into a refrigerator?"

In a unique twist, Ford may have a new answer, combined with a very New York angle.

Recently, the automaker brought several Explorer sport-utility vehicles into one of the halls of Grand Central Station, a busy hub for the city's even busier transit commuters. How did they do it? That's what we wanted to know, and luckily, Ford had a videographer on hand to capture the action.

A virtual train of Explorers shuffled through the train terminal in the wee hours of the night. Restrictions on their engine idle forced some hard labor and manpower to make the event happen.

That's not to say the Explorer is an elephant, though. The event was to introduce the new Platinum trim on the Explorer, which includes a hi-fi audio system from partner Sony that was designed to offer a quality listening experience in each seating position. The Explorer Platinum also introduces a new price point for what was once the SUV value leader: $53,495.

It's safe to say that it takes more than opening the door to get an Explorer into Grand Central.
