2015 Ford Shelby GT350 and GT350R Mustangs Limited to 137 Units

Ford will release a limited amount of its Shelby GT350 and GT350R Mustangs at dealerships in the U.S. to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the very first Shelby GT350.

The first GT350 was released back in 1965 and helped establish the Mustang reputation that still stands today, according to Ford.

"Fans of the Shelby brand are among the most passionate in the automotive industry," said Henry Ford III, Ford Performance marketing manager, in a company statement. "To honor the passion of our fans for Shelby GT350's 50th anniversary, a limited run of GT350 models will be built in 2015; these cars will be highly coveted by both Mustang and Shelby enthusiasts alike."

Brace yourself Mustang fans: only 100 of the Shelby GT350 vehicles will be sold as a 2015 model before Ford starts production on the 2016 Shelby GT350.

Of those 100 just 50 will come with Ford's "Technology Package" and the other 50 will be sold with the "Track Package" according to Ford.

The 2015 Shelby GT350R is even more exclusive as just 37 will be made to commemorate the 1965 GT350 track-ready ride.

While we don't know the base-price for the limited-edition vehicles yet, Mustang6G reported that the Technology Package will cost an additional $7,500 and the "Track Package" is $6,500.

Each 2015 Shelby GT350 will come with its own personal 2015 vehicle-identification number, according to Ford.

Both vehicles are set to go on sale officially this fall but if you want to make sure you drive away with one we recommend contacting your local dealership now.
