Volkswagen GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo

Now in its sixth-generation, "Gran Turismo 6" is still going strong with loyal players all over the world racing against one another in the nearly 1,200 cars. Fans of the PlayStation 3 game will have a new option to choose from for their next race, called the Volkswagen GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo, which is now available for download.

What is it?

Designed in the shape of the two-seat GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo, VW's latest concept gets is power from a front-mounted VR6 engine that offers gamers 503 horsepower and 490 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine is matted by a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox that controls the GTI's 20-inch alloy wheels.

The Supersport does 0-60 in just 3.2 seconds and has a virtual top speed of about 186 mph, thanks in part to its carbon-fiber body kit.

The GTI's appearance is pretty terrifying, which is a good thing in the racing world. We have a feeling the design wouldn't turn potential customers away though if VW was to make the concept into a production vehicle someday.

Most fascinating feature?

The 503-hp VR6 engine is a plus, along with the Supersport's lightweight body kit, but we believe the most interesting feature is the long, low radiator grille that pairs with the headlights to give it an intimidating track presence.

How to get it?

There are a few ways you can get the new GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo on your PS3. After installing Update 1.18, the ride can be purchased from the "Vision GT" area under the "Cars" section in "My Home."

You can also earn the car by finishing a lap in the new Seasonal Event, according to the according to the Gran-Turismo blog  This option is available for a limited time only, so act fast.

Can I buy it?

VW hasn't said if it will make a full-scale GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo yet, so stay tuned!
