Lexus RX, Scion iA and Subaru BRZ STi Vie for Second Place: 2015 New York International Auto Show

At an auto show, hundreds of new cars vie for the attention of media and shoppers alike. In the natural order of things, some models get lost in the shuffle, either because of location or prominence in the segment.

Here are three models that were show-stoppers in their own right:

Lexus RX

With cues that appear to be lifted from the Nissan Murano playbook, the 2016 Lexus RX sport-utility vehicle made a strong entry in New York. Its styling represents a careful evolution of a theme that's continuing to gain a loyal following. In a press conference hall all to itself and darkly lit, however, the RX was lost to some media.

Scion iA

In a case of "greater than the sum of its parts" is the Scion iA, which is a rebadged version of the next Mazda2. It's a neat concept for Scion, realizing that not all of its customers prefer boxy and wedgy hatchbacks, although its introduction seemed less splashy than previous ones from the brand.

Subaru BRZ STi

Sharing space in the same extension hall of the Javits Center as Scion and Mitsubishi, Subaru presented the BRZ STi, a more powerful concept of what the BRZ could be. Without firm plans for production, however, no matter how close to production the model is, the BRZ STi is just a concept.
