The "Fast & Furious" franchise seems to be one of the few (and unexpected) ways to get young people excited about cars, and it's now its 7th iteration-despite losing one of it's most important stars.

Unlike other popular series, the cars are the stars of the "Fast & Furious" franchise, and here are five of the fastest featured in "Furious 7."

2011 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 SS

The 2011 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport has a top speed of 257 mph and goes 0 to 60 in 2.4 seconds.

-Who drives it in the movie?

Tyrese Gibson, who plays Roman Pearce.

-Can I buy it?

Base pricing is $2,250,880, without any enhancements.

-Interesting fact?

The Bufatti Veyron Super Sport is the current Guinness Book of Records holder for the fastest production car, making it an ideal vehicle for the "Fast & Furious" franchise.

2004 Aston Martin DB9

-How fast is it?

The 2004 model has a top speed of 186 mph and reaches 0-60 in 4.7 seconds.

-Who drives it?

Jason Statham, who plays Deckard Shaw.

-Can I buy it?

Yes, but they're harder to find than the new $184,000 Aston Martin DB9.

-Interesting fact?

A head-on collision scene filmed for the movie that involved the Aston Martin DB9 was filmed by attaching cables to each car and using remote controls to drive them towards each other, according to The Telegraph.

1970 Dodge Charger

-How fast is it ?

In the film, the car is known for its incredible power at 900-hp and holds a record 1/4 mile time of just nine seconds. 

Who drives it?

Vin Diesel, who plays Dominic Toretto.

-Can I buy it?

Not the one from the movie, but similar models go for around $72,000 to $199,999.

-Interesting fact?

Approximately 9,370 '70 Charger R/Ts were made by Dodge.

2012 Nissan GTR

How fast is it?

The car goes 0 to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds and has a max speed of 193 mph.

Who drives it?

Paul Walker, who plays Brian O'Conner.

Can I buy it?

Yes, for about $89,000.

Interesting fact?

Seven in total were used during production, the only one that wasn't destroyed can now be found at the Hollywood Star Cars Museum in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

W Motors Lykan HyperSport

-How fast is it?

The HyperSport has a max speed of 240 mph and goes from 0 to 60 mph in under 3 seconds.

-Who drives it?

Toretto

-Can I buy it?

Yes, but each go for more than $3 million. It's easily the most expensive car used in the film.

-Interesting fact?

Just seven models were made by the Beirut-based company W Motors.

For the record, 230 cars were damaged during the filming of "Furious 7," according to The Wall-Street Journal.

"Furious 7" is in theaters now, and stars Vin Diesel, the late Paul Walker, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Luke Evans.
