Disney’s ‘Tomorrowland’ Features 2016 Chevrolet Volt, EN-V Cameos (VIDEO)

Before the brand-new 2016 Chevrolet Volt reaches dealerships, it will be featured on the silver screen alongside Oscar-winner George Clooney and Chevy's electric EN-V concept in Disney's next big adventure film "Tomorrowland."

Disney's upcoming movie stars Britt Robertson as optimistic teen Casey Newton and a former boy-genius inventor (Clooney) on a mission to find the secrets of a place "somewhere in time and space that only exists in their collective memory," according to Disney.

Sounds fun right, but what does Chevy have to do with all this?

"Tomorrowland is a place where nothing is impossible, which is something that Chevrolet believes can exist in the here and now," said Tim Mahoney, vice president, Global Chevrolet, in a company statement. "The Chevrolet spirit reflects the hopes and possibilities of tomorrow in real instruments of change for today like the next-generation Chevrolet Volt."

A new TV spot and digital ads will debut early in May featuring the 2016 Chevy Volt, according to a GM release.

The new Volt provides 50 miles of EV range and a new, efficient propulsion system that offers an estimated total driving range of at least 400 miles.

This isn't the first time Disney and Chevy have teamed up for a big project however.

A Test Track presented by Chevrolet opened in December 2012 in Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The track was created thanks to a partnership between Disney Imagineers and Chevrolet designers to give visitors an inside look at a professional design studio with a multi-sensory virtual experience in automotive design.

Shanghai Disney Resort and Shanghai GM signed an agreement recently to make the automaker its long-term strategic alliance partner.

Disney's "Tomorrowland" reaches theaters on May 22 in the U.S.. The film is directed by Brad Bird (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol) and also stars Hugh Laurie, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn and Tim McGraw, according to IMDB.
