Cleveland Indians Prank Jose Ramirez by Parking BMW at Shortstop

With just a little over a week left in spring training left a couple of Cleveland Indians decided it was time for a good prank.

The victim? Second-year shortstop Jose Ramirez, who apparently has a reputation for parking wherever he wants at the Indian's Goodyear Ballpark.

On Thursday, some of Ramirez's teammates thought it would be fun to prank the 22-year-old by parking his BMW where Ramirez goes to work. Right at shortstop on the diamond.

"I just saw his car parked a little far from the curve. It was a little awkward and there were a lot of spaces around," infielder Mike Aviles told reporters, according to ESPN. "We just figured we would park it somewhere a little more comfortable."

Jordan Bastian of MLB.com tweeted out the first picture of Ramirez's car in an unfamiliar parking spot.

Aviles, who admitted to being "part of" the prank, said that Ramirez tends to park anywhere he wants when he arrives to the Indian's spring training practice facility so "what's the difference between the field and the parking lot." Solid point.

"Everybody was laughing," Aviles added. "I went in and told the coaches what was going on. They were all out there for it. It was kind of funny."

It doesn't seem like the culprit will get in trouble for the prank, as the Indian's twitter page tweeted out a few glorious pictures of Ramirez's vehicle at the No. 6 position.

Bastian also reported that the grounds crew even joked about using Ramirez's car to drag the field. The thought of a BMW being used in that manor should be enough of a reason for the shortstop to be more careful with his car in the future.
