Ford Recall: 220,000 Vehicles Called Back Over 3 Issues

Ford has issued three separate safety recalls in North America involving door handles, sensors and vacuum pump relays.

The Detroit automaker isn't aware of any accidents or injuries linked to the issues yet, according to Reuters.

The first Ford recall involves approximately 213,000 2011-2013 Ford Explorer and Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicles in North American over a problem with the spring that controls the interior door handles.

When the spring is unseated, there is a chance the door could become unlatched during a side-impact crash.

Affected 2011-2013 Ford Explorer and Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicles were built at Ford's Chicago Assembly Plant from Feb. 1, 2011 to Jan., 31, 2012, June 1, 2012 to June 30, 2012 and October 1, 2012 to November 30, 2012, according to

Approximately 194,484 of the recalled vehicles are in the United States, 12,392 in Canada and 6,035 in Mexico, according to

Ford is also calling back 1,725 Lincoln MKT limo and hearse vehicles released for the 2013 to 2015 model years over a vacuum pump relay problem that could result in a fire.

The automaker is aware of two fires as a result of the issue, but no accidents or injuries.

Affected vehicles were built at Ford's Oakville Assembly facility, March 6, 2012 to March 4, 2015.

Approximately 1,586 affected vehicles are in the U.S. and 139 are in Canada.

Last, but not least, Ford issued a recall for 6,500 2011-2013 Ford F-Series Super Duty ambulance vehicles and 2014-2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty ambulance and emergency vehicles with 6.7-liter diesel engines in North America.

The automaker said the exhaust gas temperature sensors might not function properly, which could cause the vehicle to mistakenly identify a high temperature condition.

Affected vehicles were made at Ford's Kentucky Truck Plant, February 22, 2010 to February 1, 2015.

There are 6,322 vehicles in the United States, 96 in Canada and 54 in Mexico, according to
