Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a limited-edition SL model to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the automaker's 1955 win at the Mille Miglia race in Italy.

Named 417 Mille Miglia after the famous model, the seventh-generation SL will have only 500 examples and will be sold in SL400 and SL500 versions, AutoCar reported. The SL400 is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3-liter V-6, while the SL500 runs on a twin-turbocharged 4.6-liter V-8.

In the standard trim, the 417 Mille Miglia wears a black metallic paint scheme, but car fans also have the option to pick between night black magna, cashmere white magna matt and diamond white.

The seventh-generation roadster gets red accents on the front and rear bumpers as well as red brake calipers and red trim on the alloy wheels, which measure 19 inches in the front and 20 inches in the back.

For the interior, the limited-edition ride features trim in red and a matte carbon-fiber-esque look; red and black leather seats; and a red and black steering wheel. In Germany, it will be priced at €14,000, or roughly $16,000, for the model equipped with the V-6 and €12,800 for the V-8 version.

The commemorative model's 417 start number references the same one worn by the SL that American driver John Fitch drove in 1955.

Mercedes will showcase the new 417 Mille Miglia next month at the Geneva Motor Show, according to CarScoops.
