LeBron’s Kia: ‘King James Edition’ Teased Before All-Star Weekend

Apparently being the best basketball player in the world isn't enough for LeBron James. Now he's also spending his time creating cars.

James released the first teaser picture of the Kia K900 King James Edition this week to get Kia and NBA fans excited. The four-time NBA MVP and two-time NBA Champion has not mentioned when the car will debut officially yet, but if we had to guess, I don't think fans will be waiting very long.

Even though the picture doesn't show much of the car, we can see in image that the car will have a red exterior and "King James Edition" badging.

We imagine that LeBron was involved in almost all the stages of putting this vehicle together. If his Nike shoes are any indication on how the car will turn out, the "King James Edition" is going to at least look pretty sweet.

James, an avid car collector, was named Kia's first-ever luxury ambassador last October for the new Kia K900. Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin is also sponsored by Kia, mainly due to his dunk over a Kia Optima during the 2011 Slam Dunk Contest.

We'll have to see what kind of features the James Edition comes with compared to the base K900. The current K900 goes for $54,000 and comes equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 engine that pumps out 420 bhp (313 kW) and 376 lb-ft (509 Nm) of torque.

Those aren't numbers that will make an interested car buyer go crazy, which could be the reason Kia has enlisted LeBron's services.

The NBA All-Star weekend is just a few days away, so maybe the big debut will take place in New York during the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest or before the NBA All-Star game itself.

Check back for more information on LeBron's Kia once it's officially revealed to the world.
