2015 Silverado Midnight Edition Debuts at NADA and Chicago

Chevrolet is taking black to the next level with its new Silverado Midnight special edition, which is now on display at the National Automobile Dealers Association Convention & Expo in San Francisco.

The new truck will make its formal debut on February 14 during the highly anticipated Chicago Auto Show.

Starting with the black Silverado Z71, the special edition model adds features like an all-black front end with body-colored tow hooks, bumper and grille, black side moldings, 18-inch black alloy wheels with Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires.

Special Z71 badges can be found on all the doors and black Chevy bowties are places on the front and rear, according to a GM press release.

"The Midnight special edition, like our recently announced Custom Sport Silverado, lets our dealers offer a custom look right from the factory," said Sandor Piszar, Silverado marketing director. "Customers can get a monochrome exterior, black alloy wheels and other uplevel touches, while maintaining all of the dependability Chevy trucks are famous for along with full factory warranty coverage."

Also included with all Midnight special editions is a locking rear differential, off-road suspension, trailering package and Hill Descent Control.

Rear park assist and heats, power-adjusted outside rear-view mirrors are also standard.

Chevy will make the Silverado Midnight special edition available in either 1500 double-cab or crew-cab models. Dealers will start ordering the trucks starting next month.

Depending on the model, package prices will be around 1,595 to 1,995, according to GM. Up to 5,000 Midnight special editions will be made for the 2015 model year.

The Chicago Auto Show opens its doors on Saturday, February 14 at 9 a.m. and runs through the 22nd. The Media Preview takes place from Feb. 12-13.
