Porsche Will Build Only 60 Carrera GTS Club Coupes to Honor Its Biggest Fans

Does Porsche really need another variant of its 911 coupe?

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of its most loyal fan base, the Porsche Club of America, the automaker commissioned 60 copies of what it's calling the 2015 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Club Coupe.

What's special about these two-door coupes finished in the purplish hue designated "Club Blau?" They look slightly wider than standard, 430-hp rear-wheel-drive 911 models, as the special-edition Club Coupes are based instead on the width of the all-wheel-drive Carrera 4. Their 20-inch wheels evoke historic 911 models'. Their interiors are finished in blue and tinted with red accents. And the double-digit limited run is almost certain to keep the Club Coupes among the more desirable 997-era models.

Members of the Porsche Club of America will have first dibs on 59 of the $137,055 special-edition models—much the same way that 918 Spyder owners can also purchase the exclusive 911 Turbo S Edition 918 Spyder. The last model will be part of a drawing in which Club members can enter to win it.

You probably won't see them complaining about another 911 on the market.
