The Tesla Model S P85D Smokes Its Fastest Competition

How do you make the Tesla Model S P85, the world's most powerful production electric car, even quicker? Give it an extra motor. Add in all-wheel drive, and the resultant P85D—as in "P85 "dual" motor—becomes a drag racing machine.

Drag Times put the 691-hp P85D up against the reigning electric speed champ, the P85, in a drag race, and the results are simply electrifiying. This isn't the first time that a Tesla has won a drag race against a pretty powerful sports sedan, as Automobile Magazine proved nearly two years ago.
