New Year's Bowl Games to Feature New Matthew McConaughey Lincoln Ads

Alright, alright, alright! If college football bowl games weren't enough to capture America's attention, Lincoln will launch its latest ad campaign promoting the 2015 Lincoln MKZ and MKZ Hybrid featuring Matthew McConaughey on New Year's Day. The ads follow a memorable, although puzzling, series of ads for the 2015 MKC.

"The overwhelming response to the MKC campaign sparked truly great awareness for Lincoln," said Andrew Frick, Group Marketing Manager Lincoln in a statement. "Matthew's natural storytelling ability perfectly complements the Lincoln story as we continue to raise awareness and drive conversation in creative and unexpected ways."

The ads were filmed in Los Angeles in collaboration with ad agency Hudson Rouge. They will air in the United States and in Canada.

The first commercial, called "Diner," features McConaughey in a small neighborhood restaurant in Silvelake. The ad examines the car's MyLincoln Touch driver connectivity system, retractable panoramic roof and push-button start.

In the ad "Balance, the Academy Award winner can be seen in Griffith Park in front of the L.A. skyline while thinking about the MKZ Hybrid's fuel efficiency and design.

"If I can be authentic, and the spots are authentic, then we are sending the same message," McConaughey said in a statement. "And I think we're doing that in this series of Lincoln ads."
