One of just 301 1989 Lamborghini LM002 vehicles will be auctioned off on Friday, January 16, 2015 by RM Auctions.

The LM002 up for auction was built in March 1989, and only had two previous owners. It spent its entire life in the Pacific Northwest with its second owner, Robert F. Meyer of Hoquiam, Washington, who owned the vehicle for the past 23 years.

The Lamborghini's odometer shows 18,000 miles, according to the RM Auctions press release. It is fitted with the original 1989 Pirelli Scorpion tiers, which were custom made by Pirelli for the LM002.

Besides its wood trim, which was released because of its age, the LM002 has been preserved very well and remains basically in its original condition. This specific vehicle was finished in classic red with black interior.

The vehicle features a 444 hp 5,167 cc four-valve DOHC V-12 engine with six Weber carburetors, five-speed manual transmission, independent front and rear suspension with coil springs and telescopic shock absorbers, and four-wheel hydraulic ventilated disc brakes.

A 76-gallon fuel tank helps accommodate its 8-mpg fuel consumption, and its performance was extraordinary. The vehicle was capable of completing a 0 to 60 mph run in just 7.7 seconds, despite the fact that the LM002's curb weight was 5,720 pounds.

RM Auctions says the car would be a great car no matter where you are driver, be it sand dunes of Qatar or the "urban jungle of New York City."

Current estimates have the vehicle going without reserve for $175,000 to $225,000, though it wouldn't surprise us if the Lamborghini LM002 went for much more.
