British toymaker Hornby has announced that it will release model vehicles based on the new James Bond film "Spectre."
Hornby won the international license to sell Corgi and Scalextric-branded James Bond products and a new range is expected to be displayed during the London Toy Festival in January 2015, the company said on Friday, according to Reuters.
Bond is back in the headlines this week after the big announcement that the 24th film will be called "Sprectre and will hit theater's next year.
Hornby Chief Executive Richard Ames said this week that the deal will continue a long partnership between the toy firm and the popular spy, one that traces back over 100 years.
"James Bond has been a fantastic licensed partnership for our brands going back over 50 years with Corgi's Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger winning the very first toy of the year award in 1965," Ames said, according to Reuters.
"Scalextric sets featuring the James Bond movie vehicles are always popular with our consumers and we are looking forward to seeing the new cars featured in the film," he added.
Bond, which first hit screens back in 1962, has provided a big boost to a number of Britain's businesses during its unmatched movie run.
Luxury automaker Aston Martin said on Thursday that it would supply Bond once again with his favorite car by building a brand new sports vehicle called the DB10. Only 10 of the specially-designed vehicles will be made, according to Reuters.
"In the same year that we celebrate our 50-year relationship with 007, it seems doubly fitting that today we unveiled this wonderful new sports car created especially for James Bond," Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer said in a statement. "To be partnering once again with EON Productions is great news for this company and for everyone around the world that loves to see Bond at the wheel of an Aston Martin."
Daniel Craig, who will play Bond for the fourth time, is joined by Christoph Waltz, Lea Seydoux, Dave Bautista, Andrew Scott and Monica Bellucci in "Spectre" which is set to be released in November 2015.
Toys are expected to be shipped out during the second have of 2015.
