James Bond Gets a Special Aston Martin DB10 for 'Spectre'

If you were worried that an Aston Martin wouldn't be featured in the new James Bond movie, rest assured: The British luxury brand has a limited-edition model called the DB10 in the works for the 24th Bond picture.

The project, which will be featured in next year's "Spectre" film, builds on a 50-year partnership between Aston Martin and the film franchise. Only 10 of the special DB10 model will be built, according to Bloomberg News.

An example of the silver stunner was officially unveiled today on the 007 stage at Pinewood Studios.

"In the same year that we celebrate our 50-year relationship with 007, it seems doubly fitting that today we unveiled this wonderful new sports car created especially for James Bond," Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer said in a statement. "To be partnering once again with EON Productions is great news for this company and for everyone around the world that loves to see Bond at the wheel of an Aston Martin."

Daniel Craig will play Bond for the fourth time in the film, which is slated for a November 2015 release.

Being spotlighted in Bond's 24th big-screen adventure should provide a boost for the luxury automaker, which is looking to expand with an investment of $783 million through 2017.

Aston Martin recently had a close shave in the U.S., where federal regulators last month had to grant the company a temporary reprieve from adhering to newer safety regulations that essentially would have ended its sales in the country.

Marek Reichman, Aston Martin's head of design, and "Spectre" director Sam Mendes collaborated to help develop the limited-edition DB10 model.

The film's title evokes classic James Bond movies as SPECTRE (Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion) is an evil organization from the original novels by Ian Fleming, Entertainment Weekly reported.

"A cryptic message from Bond's past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization," the film's logline describes. "While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE."
